Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse

Date: 2006

This is the first video game I've ever played. Or maybe it's not, but I don't remember playing anything before that and I barely have any memories of myself at that age at all. The game is forever engraved in my brain, and just seeing the visuals or, especially, hearing the sound effects makes my heart melt instantly. And I do think that my feelings are completely justified because the game still looks and sounds amazing, and it was incredibly fun to play it as a child.

Also here's an fun fact: Freddi is a girl, but I've always thought she was a boy. I guess it's not that easy to determine the gender of a fish after all.

Total Annihilation

Date: 2008

I don't remember anything about this game except its depressive visuals and the fact that I had no idea how to play it. It still was fun to me, I guess.

Heroes of Might and Magic III

Date: 2009

I managed to beat the tutorial map. That counts as a completion, right? The game as a strategy is pretty cool, I guess, but I can't imagine a game where I sucked more balls than here. However, it's still engraved in my brain due to an absolutely god-like soundtrack and sound design. Paul Romero, Rob King, and Steve Baca did an outstanding job here. My words can't express how much I especially love how the harp is used throughout the tracks. My favorites are Fortress, which is extremely groovy for classical music, and Tower, which is magically beautiful.

Stranded II

Date: 2009

It may not look that impressive, but this is a truly great survival game. I never actually managed to beat it, which you probably shouldn't be surprised by at this point, but it did manage to inspire me during my childhood. I've been waiting for a sequel all these years, and as of me writing this, it's still in development. Really hope it comes out someday.

A bunch of other PC games

Most of them are point and click, and I like this genre by this day. I wish they were still being made.

A bunch of early mobile games

I wanted to call this section "Nokia games", but none of the phones I've used were actually from Nokia.

A bunch of Flash games from Mail.ru
